Cost

New Hampshire is in no position to give up extra money right now. Unemployment and foreclosures are up, and HB 1590 would cost our state greatly.

$6,395,600 / year

State spending and loss
Expenditures would increase by $50,500 in FY 2011, and revenue would decrease by $9,000 annually.

Weddings are big business
The state estimates 200 same-sex marriages per year. At an average of $31,933 per wedding for couples in the Londonderry area--not including engagement rings and honeymoons--we would lose $6,386,600 per year from our local and state economies (and 200 couples is a conservative estimate, as couples from out of state would come to NH for weddings).
