How to Help
Speak up. Write letters to local papers. Explain to friends and
neighbors that this is not about voter rights; it's about a vote to
discriminate. Do not sign the marriage petition. Talk to
friends who did sign the petition. Send emails/letters to town council members and state
representatives. Suggest our
Facebook page to
friends. Attend town meetings. Vote "NO" on using our Constitution to take away equal rights. Care. Show our friends and neighbors that regardless
of personal views, discrimination and taking rights away from groups
based on identity is NEVER acceptable. Support our same-sex neighbors
whose actual lives are caught up in all this. Ask questions. Demand
more of elected officials. Know that there are a lot of good people
working with you who b

elieve in equal rights, and care about their
community.
Every little bit you can do helps, even if it's only convincing
one person to do the right thing. Who knows how many people that person
will tell?
If you need any help at all understanding any piece of this, writing
letters, etc., please ask. There are many, many people who would be
happy to help. We have asked a million questions to get to our current
level of understanding; and we will ask a million more before all this
is over. We're all learning as we go.
It's the actual "going" that's important.Visit Links to learn more, and find some excellent support organizations; or read through our "
cheat sheet" to get caught up quickly.
